Terms of Service

Welcome to LaiveInLei. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the LaiveInLei mobile application (the "App"). By creating an account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use LaiveInLei. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that all information you provide is accurate.

LaiveInLei is intended for current students of the University of Leicester. We may ask you to verify your student status and may restrict or remove access for users who cannot verify eligibility.

2. Your Account

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details.
• You may not create more than one account, impersonate another person, or misrepresent your identity, age, or affiliation with the University of Leicester.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Post or send content that is sexual in nature involving minors, hateful, harassing, threatening, or that promotes violence
• Use the App to harass, stalk, or harm another user
• Upload photos or content that are not your own, or that are sexually explicit
• Solicit money, advertise services, or use the App for commercial purposes without our permission
• Attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the App's operation
• Use the App if you have been previously banned

4. Content You Share

You retain ownership of content you post (photos, bio, messages), but you grant LaiveInLei a licence to display, store, and transmit that content as necessary to operate the App. You are solely responsible for the content you share. Do not share anything you don't have the right to share, or anything illegal.

5. Safety

LaiveInLei provides reporting and blocking tools. We encourage you to use them if you encounter behaviour that violates these Terms. We may review reported content and take action including warnings, suspension, or permanent bans, at our discretion. We do not guarantee the identity, intentions, or background of any user — always exercise caution when meeting someone in person, and meet in public places where possible.

6. Features

LaiveInLei includes features such as Discover, Blind Date Mode, Lecture Crush, Campus Hotspots, Boosts, and Super Likes, which may change, be added, or be removed over time. Free usage limits (e.g. weekly boosts/super likes) may be adjusted.

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time via the App. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in unsafe or illegal behaviour, or if required by law.

8. Disclaimers

LaiveInLei is provided "as is." We do not guarantee matches, relationships, or any particular outcome from using the App. We are not responsible for the conduct of any user, on or off the App.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LaiveInLei and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
