LaiveInLei ("we", "us", "our") operates the LaiveInLei mobile application (the "App"), a social and dating platform exclusively for students at the University of Leicester. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

LaiveInLei is for users aged 18 and over who are current students (or otherwise affiliated) with the University of Leicester. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we discover an account belongs to a minor, we will delete it immediately.
Account information: name, email address, date of birth, gender, password (encrypted).
Profile information: photos, bio, course/society/interests, "Looking For" preferences.
Verification information: student status verification.
Location information: if you enable "On Campus Now," we collect your selected campus zone/hotspot. We do not collect precise GPS location — only the zone you select.
Communications: messages you send through the chat feature, including text and any media you choose to share with matches.
Usage information: likes, super likes, matches, app interactions, device type, and approximate technical data needed to operate the App.
Payment information: if you make a purchase, payment is processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details.

We do not tolerate child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, harassment, or any content that endangers or sexualises minors. We use reporting and blocking tools, and reserve the right to review reported content, suspend accounts, and report illegal content to the relevant authorities, including the National Crime Agency (NCA), where required.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, safety, or regulatory reasons.
As a UK user, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your data, object to or restrict certain processing, data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email privacy@laiveinlei.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
We use industry-standard measures (encrypted storage, secure authentication, HTTPS) to protect your data. No system is 100% secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.
Our database is hosted in the EU (Ireland). Where data is transferred outside the UK/EEA via service providers, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
